REFORM BY UNCONSTITUTIONAL MEANS IS WRONG!

The Senate’s Health Care Bill is being passed by use of bribery and extortion. The vote of some state senators was bought by promising huge specific benefits that are not offered to all the states. Reputable polls indicate that 65% of our citizens are not in favor of this bill. Our representatives are supposed to represent the will of the people not their own special interest. The wise man does not expect perfection in any human undertaking; neither does he expect complete and total failure. This Health Care Bill is a complete and total failure! It is a disaster. There have been crises in our past, as well as in the present. But this is a big one that will be difficult to recover from. I hope we will be able to regain our footing and get back to the basic principles of our nation’s constitution.

Maybe we need a refresher as to what congress is allowed to do. Look up Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. The government does not have any power and authority not specifically named in the constitution. That is why we have an amendment process. We needed an amendment to ban liquor, and then another to repeal the ban.Unless you can quote article and section of the constitution that makes it constitutional, it is unconstitutional. That is the way our constitution was set up.With regard to our liberties, unless it is specifically prohibited, we are allowed. With regard to the government's powers, unless it is specifically allowed, it is prohibited. That is the way our government was set up. Despicable individuals are trying to erode the meaning of our constitution. We must stop these anti-liberty individuals!

We are free
Let’s keep it that way!

  1. Here on the eve of Christmas when we celebrate the birth of someone who may not have been born at this time, or at all, let us contemplate what our (mostly) Christian legislators have wrought. Okay, now I'm sick and need health insurance. Wait a minute. I do have it and one of the managers amendments passed 60-39 this week was one that exempted Federal health benefits from being affected by the health care bill. Why, you might wonder, did they do that. Well, they could have done it because they have a soft spot in their hearts for Federal Government workers. Right! Or, one might speculate that it is because they too are covered by that very same health insurance option.

PS: Free to think but not to act. Remember, Congress no longer pays any attention to American citizens, the significant majority of whom oppose Congress's health care "reform" bills. Well, at least they won't until election time; by which time they hope you will have forgotten how they voted.

  2. Amen! You are a brave and ethical retired Federal Government employee who objects to the exemption of the Federal health benefits from being affected by the health care bill. You are a man of principle! I salute you.
