Yesterday, in Copenhagen, Sonny Elliot, Michigan’s representative at the United Nations climate summit, made an impassioned plea for more sunshine in the state of Michigan. He said that it has never been colder or as dreary in his home state. He pointed out that Tuvalu, a Pacific Island, is sunny and warm while people in Michigan are depressed and freezing their asses off. United Kingdom’s Climate Secretary, Ed Miliband, said that England has always been cloudy and cold. He did not think that Michigan should be first in line for more sunshine. Bill Spencer, representing Ohio, said he was not in favor of sharing sunshine with Michigan. Mr. Elliot said that he would continue to campaign for a larger allocation of sunshine until the closing session of the talks on Friday. I wish him luck!
In other news from the climate summit, the G77-China bloc, speaking for developing countries, pointed out that the rich nations of Europe and the United States have already used up over half of the world’s supply of fossil fuels. The chief negotiator for China, Mr. We-Fooka-yu, said that the US and EU should immediately stop using oil and gas so that China can use the second half of these fossil-fuels. He said, “China deserves the right to finish polluting the world”. “It is our turn to get rich by burning up the rest of the world’s natural resources!” President Obama said, “Gee, that sounds fair to me. Let me check with congress and get back to you.” And so, 100 heads of state and government continue to waste time and energy discussing an issue that they have absolutely no control over_the weather! Global Warming is the biggest scam in history!
There is science, logic, reason; there is thought verified by experience. And then there is the United Nations climate summit. It is using fake science to accomplish selfish political ends. The African nations are asking for billions of dollars in reparation because rich nations (United States) wrecked their climate by burning carbon fuels. Give me a break! The liberal press only publishes information about Global Warming that is ‘supposedly’ man made. Well guess what, there are many reputable scientist, including the founder of the weather channel, who say that Global Warming is not man made. They say that there have always been climate cycles since the beginning of time. 100 year cycles, 1000 year cycles, 10,000 year cycles, and 1,000,000 year cycles. We bounce back and forth between ice ages and warming ages. The cause of these cycles is the long elliptical orbit of the earth around the sun, the wobble of the earth, the turning of the earth on its axis, the fluctuating heat of the sun and other recurring events in our Solar System. Any climate change caused by man is insignificant. The Global Warming issue is a bogus crisis. Everyone knows if you do not like the climate, just wait awhile and it will change.

In my humble albeit always brilliant opinion, the notion of global warming has been hijacked by the unscrupulous for the purposes of power, preferences and/or personal prosperity (PPPPP). The weather cycles of the earth are better known in the long term than in the short run. Wherever there is doubt, the con men rush in to join the “sold rush.”
ReplyDeleteLet’s stop with the cap and trade nonsense, and all the finger pointing, while we concentrate on issues for which rational consensus exists. Pollution and energy conversion fit the bill, are two sides of a similar coin, and probably have implications for other perceptions such as, gasp, global warming.
We’re polluting ourselves to death. Our sources of energy contribute, so that converting to more green energy resources also affects the rate at which we are fouling our environment. We have a good start down this toll road towards a sustainable future but a long way to travel. Let’s not be detoured down a side street into unprovable contention.
If “global warming” is real, then our efforts to clean up our earthly act will have a positive effect in that sphere. If it doesn’t exist, then we will still have much to show for our effort . . . and earn the thanks and maybe even the respect of those who follow our generation. TsarPat

Brilliance is an ephemeral feature of man's existence. Besides you and me and your discriminating followers of this blog, the numbers fall off rapidly until they reach zero in WashDC. God should thank us.
